Warrior Connection - 09/01/13

The September 1 Warrior Connection was a wonderful discussion with Jim Eldridge of the Chanute Air Museum (www.aeromuseum.org) about the legendary WW2 U.S. Army Air Corps' unit the  Tuskegee Airmen nichknamed "Red Tails" in preparation for the CAF Red Tails event September  11- 15, 2013 at the Chanute Air Museum on the former USAF Chanute Technical Training Center in Rantoul, Illinois. Families, veterans, current military, and anybody interested in WW2 or aviation history  are invited to participate in this living history event. They can make an entire weekend or even week of it by staying in Rantoul at the former USAF Fanmarker Inn now "The Quarters Inn" (http://thequartersinn.biz/) (217-893-1234) or Super 8 (217-893-8888), or Days Inn (217-893- 0700), or Magnuson Hotel (217-892-9292) (MAGNUSONHOTELS.COM),  visit the unqiue "Hardy's Reindeer Ranch" just west of Rantoul (217-893-3407) and also the great museums etc. at the University of Illinois and take in a play: WILLIAM SHAKESPERE'S ROMEO AND JULIET performed by RANTOUL THEATER GROUP (rtgonline.org) (217-892-1121)  also located In Grissom Hall- the same building as the museum.   Chanute Air Museum is always looking for  more volunteers.
